Supporting Law-Related Projects in Newfoundland and Labrador

The Law Foundation of Newfoundland and Labrador is a philanthropic organization established under the Law Society Act. The Foundation receives the interest on lawyers’ mixed trust accounts and uses it to fund legal education, legal research, law reform, legal aid, legal referral services and law libraries in Newfoundland and Labrador. The Board of Governors makes annual grant allocations at its spring meeting. Questions and potential applications should be directed to the Executive Director.

Board of Governors

The Law Foundation is administered by a Board of Governors responsible for governing the Foundation and making all granting decisions. The Board has seven volunteer members appointed under the provisions of the Law Society Act, 1999.
